TREE COMMISSION
The Commission is responsible to develop, review, and update the Village's official tree program as provided for in Chapter 11, Landscaping Code, of the Lakewood Municipal Code. The Commission also has the responsibility to analyze the Village's trees and to make recommendations to the Village from time to time. On areas where trees should be added or removed, trees that should be pruned, on trees that may be diseased or dying, on how trees should be trimmed or otherwise cared for, and on tree preservation and protection standards and policies. In addition, the Commission undertakes such other responsibilities and activities as the Village Board may assign from time to time. All members are appointed by the Village President with the advice and consent of the Village Trustees. Meetings are held on an as-needed basis.
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
The Commission carries out the duties of a Plan Commission and a Zoning Board of Appeals. It reviews and makes recommendations to the Village Board on all zoning requests, subdivision designs, and site plans. Seven members are appointed to staggered terms by the Village President with the advice and consent of the Village Trustees. The Commission meets at 7:00 p.m. on the Monday preceding the 3rd Tuesday of each month, or as called, at RedTail Golf Club.
