Police Department FAQ
Is there something I can do to ensure my house is safe while I go on vacation?
You may request a house watch by the Police Department by calling the non-emergency number at (815) 459-2151 or by using the form HOUSE WATCH.
How will I know when there is a weather emergency?
A 3-minute continuous tone siren is sounded to alert residents of a tornado warning. When you hear the siren, do not call 911, just take immediate shelter. There will not be an "all clear" signal. Residents should listen to local radio (FM 105.5) and TV news stations for updated weather information. Note that all sirens in the Crystal Lake area, including the Village's siren, are tested at 10:00 a.m. on the 1st Tuesday of each month.
